These compelling images of African sculpture illustrate the shadow side of life and the world of the spirits. Interspersed in the presentation are works of avant-garde artists Gauguin, Brancusi and Picasso reflecting sacred sculpture from the Sudan, the Guinea Coast and Central Africa. Dramatic music heightens the dark side of existence. The video’s theme comes from my ongoing investigation of the confluence of animism, science and aesthetics, now a “fashionable” study among many physicists. |
