When Experience Counts

As the first honors graduate in African art from the African Studies Center of UCLA in 1968, Ron Atwood is now the longest established dealer on the west coast of the United States.

Traditional African sculpture from the inventory of Atwood African Masterworks has been selected for exhibition at the Museum for African Art in New York, the Rietberg Museum, Zurich, the Yale University Art Gallery, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Now the important point

Only one of the pieces presented at the above museums had ever been exhibited before, a Senufo equestrian from Udo Horstman. The rest were my own fresh discoveries purchased by well known collectors who lent them for exhibition. The next seasoned collector or curator who acquires a masterwork from my new acquisitions could be you.
